Murder Trail

The fast-paced interactive forensic murder mystery!

Based on the popular CSI TV series!

The discovery of the decapitated head of a female member of staff indicates a violent murder. But who would have motive and opportunity to carry out such a vicious crime against the young IT manager? Can you piece together the evidence and solve the Murder Trail?

What is Murder Trail?

Murder Trail is an exciting, fast paced, forensic murder mystery that can be dynamically scaled for any ability and for up to 90 players.

Investigate outdoor crime scenes, take samples from the victim's severed head, search offices, interview witnesses and suspects, try your hand at forensic experiments and much more!

Murder Trail can be played purely for fun as a day or evening out with a group of friends or it can be put to more academic uses.

Players can develop over 100 functional, transferable skills during the event. It can also incorporate specific training requirements, such as word processing, MOODLE training, presentation training etc.

Who is Murder Trail for?

Murder Trail can be played by any number of people of any ability. You do not need a background in science.

It is suitable for groups of friends, theatre groups, scouts, girl guides, colleges, schools, universities, businesses, anyone over the age of 14.

Murder Trail has been used for team building in induction days, as well as team diagnostics where the problems within a team have been clearly highlighted and resolved through playing Murder Trail.

BTEC students have used Murder Trail to collect a multitude of key skills using photograhps and videos as evidence.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from 3 hours to 1 week. It is completely scalable depending on your requirements. Most people will play the 1 day version. Educational establishments might like the 2 day or longer versions. A special 2 hour ice breaker version is also available.

What happens during the day?

The teams are drawn into the fictional world of Mithrhyn Park and its surrounding area as they investigate crime scenes, interview suspects and perform forensic experiments.

You will have a free reign - you can approach Murder Trail however you want, go wherever you like, talk to anyone you want to, collect anything (within reason!), have coffee whenever and however often you feel the need!

What should I bring with me to an event?

Nothing! Everything is provided on the day including a CSI kit, pen, paper etc. We do ask that you wear footwear suitable for walking.

Do I get a certificate?

It depends on the establishment running Murder Trail. Most places will give a certificate at the end of the event. There is a special certificate for people who get the closest to the correct answer and different certificates for each of the different roles (playing, acting, training). People who perform all the roles get a special certificate.
